The Housing Impact Project was born from a simple conversation between two business owners who shared a common belief – that when people are doing it tough, communities have the power to make a real difference.

The idea began when Curtis became aware of an elderly Hunter Valley couple who, through no fault of their own, found themselves living in a basic shed structure after financial hardship prevented them from completing their home. Like many Australians facing difficult circumstances, they simply needed a helping hand.

Wanting to make a difference, Curtis began exploring ways to raise funds to support the couple and help improve their living conditions. During a conversation with Alec, the idea quickly evolved into something much bigger.

Alec had long held a vision of establishing an annual charity golf day that would bring people together to support those in need. As we discussed our ideas, it became clear that our values, goals and desire to create meaningful community impact were closely aligned.

What started as a discussion about helping one couple soon became a shared vision to create an organisation capable of supporting many more people in the years ahead.

Together, we established The Housing Impact Project with a simple mission: to identify worthy causes, unite communities, businesses and industry professionals, and deliver practical outcomes that genuinely improve people's lives.
